Thousands of veterans came to Washington, D.C., on Monday in honor of their fellow men and women uniform to celebrate Memorial Day. Despite the holiday, some veterans are still waiting for assistance as the Department of Veterans Affairs is weighed down with a backlog of more than 600,000 claims. Host Carmen Russell-Sluchansky spoke with Jes Godinez, a Vietnam War veteran and Ride to the Wall member who makes a pilgrimage to the Vietnam War Memorial every year along with hundreds of others, to discuss Memorial Day.
